VDS is an experiment -- an attempt to sort out how people can tackle the big questions, the grand challenges of our time, in a way that not only generates good work and solutions but also joy along the way. As such, the project is evolving in its structure, its goals and ambition. 

VDS is an experiment and as such we hope others will take courage and inspiration from our work and apply that fire to their own interests and endeavors to find ways to work together.

VDS is honored to have provided a seed of inspiration in the establishment the year after the founding of VDS of the MIT International Development Design Summit (IDDS). Some images from this event are shown at right. 

Sometimes it can seem daunting that we share our planet with nearly seven billion neighbors, but when it comes to problem solving that many collaborators is never a bad thing.
